Partner Note

A clear partner note for South African trade relationships across cutting cells, tooling supply and workshop support.

Trade handover for cutting partners

Partner Note sets out the trade relationships behind cutting cells, tooling supply and workshop support. It gives partners a single page for the practical scope of cooperation and shared job responsibilities.

A Partner Note should state who supplies the cell, who sets tooling, and who handles the first cut checks on site. Include sheet or board type, thickness, edge quality required, and whether the work sits in a factory in Johannesburg, Durban, or Cape Town where dust, salt air, and power interruptions change routine checks.

Keep one dated photo of the machine as received, with guards, bed, and extraction points visible. Add the care note beside the dispatch papers so operators can check blade condition, hold-down pressure, and waste removal before the next production start.

What the note must record

Name the agreed scope of supply, the machine reference, and the tooling fitted for that job. It also needs a short record of who checks alignment, who signs off sample parts, and where replacement consumables come from when a cutter, knife, or guide reaches wear limits.

Link the Partner Note to the matching entries under Applications and Edgework before extra work is added to the same cell. Check tooling codes and courier paperwork once more before dispatch, and send the file through the contact form naming the machine, current cut area, or worn part that needs attention.

  • Scope split between supply and support
  • Machine condition captured before restart

Site conditions that change trade terms

Some partner arrangements sit around OR Tambo freight timing, branch stock in major centres, and workshops with older extraction or compressed air lines. Where a line is partly upgraded, note which items are current and which still rely on previous tooling, guards, or control settings.

Near the coast, corrosion and grit can shorten intervals between cleaning and inspection. Inland sites often see fine dust around sensors and rails, while load-shedding means restart checks must cover home position, vacuum hold, and a fresh sample cut before full production continues.

Records to attach with it

Send the partner note with site images, programme timing, scope of supply, and any trouble already seen on the cell or tooling side. Make the subject line clear.

Write the note while the blade condition, cut quality, and machine settings can still be checked against the job. File it with the project record and the partner correspondence so procurement, stores, and workshop staff are looking at the same scope and the same site evidence.
